 Mr. Grose was born in Northern Minnesota but grew up in a small town in Southern Minnesota. After graduating from Northwestern College with a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.S. in Mathematics Education, he accepted a job teaching Math and Computer Science at Centennial High School in Circle Pines Minnesota, where he also coached varsity football and baseball. After earning his Masters Degree in Education from Saint Mary's University, Mr. Grose enrolled at the University of Minnesota. While there, he earned his Minnesota K-12 Principal's License and joined the first cohort of educational leaders in the nation to enter a program of study focused solely on technology leadership in education and earned a certificate in School Technology Leadership from what is now called the Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education. Mr. Grose is currently working on his doctorate in Educational Policy and Administration through the University of Minnesota. In the fall of 2004, Mr. Grose and his family packed up and left the city to move up north after accepting the job as Principal of Deer River High School, a role he kept until the 2006-2007 school year when he took on the added responsibilities of Superintendent. Mr. Grose completed his Superintendent License at the University of Minnesota in the summer of 2007 and now is the full time Superintendent for Deer River Public Schools. Mr. Grose lives in Deer River with his wife and four children. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family. |
