Comp I:  We are working on Literary Elements #10, for pp. 163-190.  Also Giants in the Earth summary questions #12-14 are due. Teacher’s Notes Lit Elements #10, pp163-190
Bible Lit:  We are doing a Partner Pick a Psalm Study.  You have to go to my teacher’s website to find the questions.  Answer them with your partner and then print your paper.  Follow directions very carefully. Pick A Psalm Assignment
Myths:  We are finishing Merlin today.  Get all your questions answered.

Comp I: After vocab practice, we will review for a test.  Read pp. 163-190 this week in Giants in the Earth.
Bible Lit:  We will take some notes on the characteristics of the Psalms, and then we will look at Psalm 142 carefully and answer questions about it.
Myths:  We are on Part 3 of the Merlin story. 

Comp I:  After vocab practice, we will work on Confused Words #3.  If you haven’t finished your essay on the “New Me,” do that instead.  Read at the end of the hour (pp.163-190).
Bible Lit:  We are taking notes on the characteristics and content of Psalms as poetry, and there is a study of Psalms 145 and 23 to complete.
Myths:  We are continuing the story of Merlin, part 2.  Answer the questions on the story elements and characteristics of the fantasy genre in this story.

Comp I: After vocab practice, I will go over some revision techniques for you “New Me” Essays.  Finish your essay today, proofread, and print.  Attach your outline to the back as well as an evaluation checklist.  Take time to read in Giants in the Earth.
Bible Lit:  We are starting the story of David and Saul today.  We’ll take some discussion notes.  Then, read the story and answer questions.
Myths:  We are looking at the elements of fantasy in the story Merlin, part 1.  First, we will take notes on the legend of King Arthur.

Comp I:  After vocab practice, we will start writing our “New Me” essay.  I will talk about Subjunctive Mood first so that you write your essay correctly.  (If I were, not if I was…)  Read pp. 163-190 in GITE if you have extra time.
Bible Lit:  Story Notes on Joseph literary elements & Joseph quiz.
Myths:  We are starting an Online Search on the Legend of King Arthur today.

Comp I:  We are discussion Literary Elements #9 and reading Giants in the Earth today.  You should finish GITE#10 for this week.  Next week we will do GITE #12-14 and read pp. 163-190. Teacher’s Notes Lit. Elements 136-163
Bible Lit:  In Period 4 we are reviewing for a quiz and getting all Joseph work completed.  In Period 7 we are finishing Joseph Analysis part 4 and writing our summaries in Detached Observer point of view.Myths:  We will finish the story “Monkey’s Paw” today.  There is vocab work to complete as well as discussion questions.  Notice how important FATE is in this story.

Comp I:  After our vocab practice, we are starting an essay called “The New Me.”  Today you will make an outline for your essay.  Take time to do some reading in GITE.
Bible Lit:  4th hour will be doing Part 4 (Detached Observer summary) of the Joseph Analysis and 7th hour will be doing Part 3 (Limited Omniscient summary). 
Myths:  We will start with the Story Notes discussion on “Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.”  Then, we will begin reading “The Monkey’s Paw” and answer story questions.

Comp I:  After our vocab practice, we will work on a harder set of confused words and find errors in context.  Then, read pp. 136-163 in Giants in the Earth.
Bible Lit:  We are working on Joseph analysis, Part 3 in 4th hour.  Be sure to write in complete sentences and explain your answers.  In 7th hour, we will do extra credit and make-up work because 23 out of 31 students will be at the school musical, Guys and Dolls.
Myths:   We will have 18 out 26 students at the musical, so we will be doing extra credit and make-up work today.

Comp I:  After vocab practice, we will study our homonyms/ confused words like their/there/they’re.  We have a lot to read this week:  pp.136-163 in Giants in the Earth.
Bible Lit:  Analysis of Joseph, Part 2.  Be sure you explain everything and write in complete sentences.
Myths:  We will finish the story “Tomorrow, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.  Keep your eyes open for an allusion to one of Shakespeare’s works.

Comp I:  We are discussing the Literary Elements in pp. 121 - 136, Literary Elements #8.  Then we will continue to read and try to turn in GITE #9 today.  You can start #10 when you finish.  We normally do this on Friday, but too many were absent last week.  You can find an upload of the notes on Nov. 7th’s entry.
Bible Lit:  We are starting an indepth analysis of the movie Joseph today.  First I will explain the analysis packet you will have to complete as you view it.
Myths:  We will read the story “Tomorrow, Tomorrow” and answer story questions.  If we didn’t do the story notes on “The Lottery” on Friday, we will do them today.
